Right... for me, this anime is an absolute masterpiece. It is something that I never imagined would ever exist. I know some people dislike this anime. I know some people even hate this anime. But I think I know the reason why. I'll come to that later. This anime tackles issues that does exist in our current high school generation(believe me... I know).

Yukinoshita Yukino... if you're a younger sibling and you're always compared to your older and more popular and more successful sibling... it does feel bad. In most cases, if you have close friends... at least you'll have them to treat you as an individual. However in Yukino's case, she's a loner... then obviously she finds Hachiman and Yui where her life takes a dramatic turn.

On the other hand, Yuigahama Yui... admit it... there are many who change themselves just to be accepted. And once they are accepted, they can't change back as it will cost them their popularity. Yui goes along with everything Yumiko says and does just so at the end of the day, she can be friends with someone as popular as her to gain popularity as well. Trust me, more people exist in today's world than you think who are just like Yui.

And then we have Hikigaya Hachiman... my all time favourite character... not only in anime but in all fictions. And let me tell you... I've watched/read most popular fictions/anime. He deserves so much respect as a character. Admit it, if you're a loner... you develop a certain mindset towards society. But in most cases... if not all cases, you don't express that mindset because that just makes everything worse for you. Hachiman on the other hand, isn't scared. He stays true to who he is and understands the conventions of society better than anyone else. Most loners would half the first half of Hachiman's character i.e. having a certain mindset towards society. However not many... if any loners can be like Hachiman. In that way, he is truly an inspiration.

Yes I'll admit that the whole setting and some other characters and some other things are sort of cliche and not realistic like the main characters. However if you're able to ignore that just like me then you'll find this anime amazing. In other words, this is a real-life show school show that is still an anime. Another way to sum it up would be that it's the closest thing you can get to a realistic school anime whilst still being entertaining. The only thing that can beat this anime if someone does something similar but instead they make the setting and other things more realistic. All whilst still making it entertaining to watch.

Now to why some people hate this. In my opinion, you can only like this anime if you understand it fully. Some people would see the name 'My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU' and think to themselves that it would be just a romantic comedy for them to watch without using their brain too much. These people try not using their brain and so they think to themselves "wtf was that". The other reason that some people might dislike this is maybe because they aren't too aware of how things truly are in the current generation. These people could either be the really popular school children who don't know how much a loner is socially smarter than them so they would find it annoying at how the loner disrespects the popularity created in school. Or these people could be the older people who have a mentality set towards their days in high school instead of the modern high school. This makes them say stuff such as 'this anime is just trying to be too philosophical' or 'it's boring' or 'nothing really happens throughout the anime' and so on when at the end of the day, it's a very entertaining and helpful portrayal of high-school society of TODAY... not earlier.
