Reviews

This is the first review I have given to an anime show. I have seen a reasonable amount (not by MAL's standards), and is "one of many" types of media I watch. (MILD SPOILERS AHEAD - Mainly at the end to due with characters)

It's one of the pieces of fiction that, in my opinion, best dealt with the whole concept of alternate realities, time travel, and past/present/future relationship and clairvoyance. It managed to create a "complicated" and interesting world/concept, without it being impossible to understand/filled with holes. This is what Mirai Nikki does best, and in my opinion excels at. I really liked it, and it unravelled beautifully.
The sound (I watched the subtitled version) was frankly very good. Every time the static appeared by whole mind jumped even if physically only my pupils dilated, so quiet was I from not wanting to miss a thing. Explosions, cuts, they surround us, and I bet if I had watched it with a good surround sound system I would have been even more pulled in.
The story also unravelled in a beautiful way, if you look at it from a macro perspective. It is mostly good, but what might have been a 8 is brought up to a 10 because of what I mentioned before (concept/macro view of the story). The twists and turns work well, and while it does fail when we micro analyse it, in my opinion that starts being due to the characters and not what here counts as "story".
This is where I have my only qualm, and it is to do with character arcs. (SPOILERS)

Minene, for example. While it is not completely unrealistic (and in my opinion it's actually justified, contrary to many other reviews here), it's just far too much all the changes she goes through. Starts off as deranged terrorist, then bamf fighter, then good terrorist... they could have shown better that she was all of that all the time (which I'm guessing was the creators intention), and that du...tri...multifaceted nature wasn't conveyed to the viewer well enough. She was not a "tsundere" - her "warm side" was shown almost right from the beginning, but it was all clouded with, well, her being an international terrorist. "Yukki" also suffers from this lack of "explanation/clarification" - many characters have reactions that seem out of place at best. We do have to wonder if they were chosen exactly because of this.
Another thing, half character half story, Mur Mur's bits at the end either work perfectly to brighten up the mood between episodes, or completely ruin it. I knew she was up to something from one of her first comments, and believe that those Mur Mur bits at the end were there to deceive the viewer into dismissing Mur Mur as nothing but a gimmick (which many people that I've talken to and watched the show "fell for".
