No spoilers :P

So during the season in which this anime, "Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry", aired, there was an absurdly similar show that aired at the same time, "Asterisk Wars". I watched an episode of each one and was hooked into "Asterisk Wars" first, being I that I fell for its soft pastel colors. All things told, "Asterisk Wars" was a disappointment; but that is a discussion for another day.

"Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry" starts off as an average ecchi-school-battle-royal-harem, but unlike many, *cough, "Asterisk Wars", it is not a harem and has a well executed conclusion. The pacing made sense, and played in character arcs. The atmospheres starts off being carefree and casually flips around to become more dramatic as the story progresses.

Art was fine. Nothing over the top. The color pallet used is pretty much the colors you see in the cover art. Character designs were typical. I personally find "Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry's" character designs more attractive than that of "Asterisk Wars" of the same season.

Ecchi elements... lets just say... ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) *Red twin-tails tsundere + ZR

Characters play a large role on the enjoyment department in my book and in "Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry", I don't think they disappoint. The characters have motives and change over time based on what they've been through. I might be giving this too much credit since some scenes and character interactions seem pretty cliched but for this anime genre/formula, it is often expected.

The OP/ED were mediocre for me, I just skipped it.

I wouldn't say I didn't enjoy it, (notice I started with a negative) but being that this anime still falls to the typical "unoriginal ecchi-battle-school" genre, I had to crank up my expectations. There are many shows of this genre making it difficult for "Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry" to stand out. Is it the best out of this genre? Certainly not, but it can be close up there. It definitely tells the ecchi-battle-school story effectively, which makes it worth a peek ;)

I give a solid 7/10; good but negligible for that season.
