As a classical pianist myself, I feel that the first thing I should say is that all of the musical aspects of this show are entirely accurate. I went in expecting a bunch of made up crap and abundant dramatic poorly informed cliché's but what I found was a fantastic depiction of classical piano subculture, on point common musical difficulties, and only one unrealistic thing, the not being able to hear the notes bit. But that helped for the drama so it was permissible. Another important thing I should say is that while the show may feel like it drags on a bit around episodes 14-19, it is one of the few shows out there with an absolutely stellar ending. I understand why some people don't like this show but I think if you go in with an open mind, it could end up being one of your favorite shows out there. I hope this helped. I know I always want to read a ton of reviews before investing time into a show.
