The only similarities between these two series are DWMA and people turning into weapons. Soul Eater NOT! is a relaxing anime you can watch without sitting at the edge of your seat and biting your nails off. It has a pleasant amount of humor but the story isn't that deep which you can expect from a slice of life anime. The art-style is nice and the animation is smooth but there should have been something deeper in this anime.
Final verdict: If you have watched the original Soul Eater and want something more relaxing and fun to watch or just happened to like slice of life animes in general... try this and I think you won't be disappointed.
