Ahh Kyoukai no Kanata,
This is the one show that I would use to define 'meh'. It wasnt bad by any means, but it wasn't good either. My main problem with the show was the lack of character; you can tell the amount of effort a studio has put in by the supporting characters. Kuriyama-san was an interesting character, definitively out of the norm but the supporting cast was boring and stereotypical. I felt the show trying desperately to make me care about events and characters, but I simply couldn't.
I kept on feeling the show could get better, but it just fizzles out and loses intensity. However, I cannot fault the art, the show was beautiful. It could have possibly been one of my favorites art-wise. Nonetheless, In the anime world, art is important to make a great show, but it cant save a bad one.
Despite my harsh words, Beyond the Boundary is definitely worth a watch on a rainy day. Just wouldn't push yourself to watch it.
Overall 6/10
Pretty 'meh'
