Hey folks, this will be a review for Mondaiji-tachi. I should say now that I love shows like this. This is my second time watching Mondaiji and I love it just as much as the first time I seen it. Anime seems to have world building down to a science. I could only hope to receive a letter and be taken to such a place, even if I don't have any superpowers.

The story of Mondaiji revolves around 3 humans from different timelines who have been summoned to this alternate world. This world is inhabited by a variety of people and beings, including but not limited to gods, demons, vampires, ghosts, catgirls....etc. These people form communities and try to win games to expand their communities in a variety of ways. Our three main characters are summoned by one of the weakest communities and must help them get back on their feet. This is super interesting to me and I loved this world immediately.

As the anime progresses we seem to pull away from the game aspect. Though its still in the mix of the action, it feels as though it was more of an afterthought. Early in the show we are show some of how the world works, and some of the powers our three main characters have and how they stack up to these supernatural beings that inhabit this world, which they call the "Garden". The later half of the show is where we see our first big confrontation and where our characters must grow to overcome the challenges they are faced.

The art and sound were well done. Art wasn't anything to write home about. The soundtrack was pleasant and fit the mood of the anime very nicely.

Our characters are not very deep or thought provoking. We have our male lead(Sakamaki, Izayo) who is very strong, very much an op character. For those of you who dislike that Idea for some reason, you will probably have trouble enjoying the show. He manages to plow through gods, demon lords and anything that stands in his way without much effort. He also is intelligent and can come up with schemes. Our two female leads are Kasukabe, You and Kudou, Asuka. Kasukabe's power is to talk with animals as well as use their abilities. She can have the strength of an elephant, walk on air like a gryphon as well as has animal senses like keen hearing and smell. Asuka has the power to command things to do what she wished. Her power is rather abstract though as she can command items to give her their powers.

Our side characters like the lunar rabbit, the gate keeper and the children from the community all play a small part. Most of the time they are their to explain something and to be of comedic value. As mentioned earlier the characters are not very deep and feel very forgettable.

Even though our characters are shallow the enjoyment of the show isn't hampered. Exploring this world and watching as our main characters progress keeps your attention. Some things do take you out of the world for a short time. The first couple of episodes Izayo wins a rather lucky prize that's too good to be overlooked. Similarly our characters all are very arrogant and constantly start fights and games which could hold serious ramifications for the community as if they are nothing. They didn't handle their world as nicely as no game no life, however this anime is nothing to ignore. It has its faults but this genre of anime isn't very common and it was handled good enough to be worth the time spent watching its 10 episodes. I really wish there would be a second season but it doesn't seem as though one will come out.

TLDR; Give this a watch, its funny, interesting and semi unique. Has some flaws though and if you don't like op main characters I wouldn't bother.
