Honestly, this one is a tear jerker. It had me an emotional wreck for at least 1/3 of the series. The character development is just stunning and you are truly invested in even the ancillary characters. There are ups and downs, you will love and hate the main characters several times each.
Without going into spoilers, the only thing I can say is the story is absurd and confusing. Said story kept getting in the way of everything other than the emotional moments because I kept getting confused about Chise and what was going on. The ending... oh boy was it... oh boy. I can't go into details without spoliers but I can say I literally said to myself "Welp, I have no idea what just happened but I didn't like it." I was conflicted on how to rate this anime. If you're willing to get lost in an absurd story to experience some of the best character development and emotion you could experience in a 1 season anime I suggest giving this one a try. I will warn you the plot will confuse you, the art is mediocre at best. If you aren't about extensive character development and an emotional roller coaster do yourself a favor and skip this; if you are you're in for one hell of a ride!
