Story: The story is pretty simple. There's a boy, Kazuma, who was banished from his family because he couldn't possess the ability to use fire. When he returns as an adult, he has learned the wind element, which is supposed to bring shame, but doesn't with the family's head, his cousin's father. The cousin, Ayano, defeated Kazuma in a battle as children to see which one will be the future head of the family. And to her, possessing another element under the family name is a disgrace. However, Kazuma's little brother, Ren, looks up to him, so she can't hate Kazuma that much. With these three, it's up to them to keep the world at peace. Okay, the plot is not that creative, but like Devil is a Part-Timer, it is cut short and the manga is supposed to be longer. I will say that the plot points will make you cry and shiver because it does get intense. I can't rate it too harshly, so I'll go with 8/10.

Art: The fighting scenes are pretty cool, but that's all the art does for me. It's pretty generic shojo art mixed in with fantasy. I mean the character designs are pretty good, but nothing really stands out at all except for the fighting moves and such, which was the design of the story. I guess the scenery's really pretty, but that's it. 6/10

Sound: You have no idea how much I love the opening to this. It's a pretty riveting song, and it fits with the theme of the show very well. However, my favorite song from this anime has to be the third anime. Without spoiling the show, let's just say that I'm a sucker for sad songs, and the anime does get really sad at one point. The other endings are pretty good, too. The music is done really well in this anime. 10/10 for it.

Character: I'll admit that the characters are the weaker ones except for a few. My personal favorites are Ren and his girlfriend, Ayumi (who you will meet later in the series). Ren is the adorable sidekick, but he can actually kick ass when he has to. Ayumi is the sweet girl who will do anything for the people she loves, and her backstory will make you cry. Kazuma is a pretty decent character, but he's your god character who really doesn't lose a fight, and he gets pretty dull at times. Ayano is your bitch. She probably improves in the manga, but there's nothing appealing about her except for the fact that she hates Kazuma. Uh, personality check? The side characters are pretty decent; I have no complaints about them. So 7/10.

Enjoyment: There were certain arcs of the show I really enjoyed and others that I didn't. Expect a few filler episodes here and there. They are mostly Ayano's father's attempts to get her and Kazuma to kiss, and you know what's gonna happen...(seriously, guess what happens). I promise it's not all boring, but it does lag a little at certain points in the show. I would rate this part 7/10 because of it.

Overall: Like Devil is a Part-Timer, if you have read the manga before this, you would most likely not enjoy this anime. If do you end up watching this, read the manga afterwards. It's most likely a lot better than this. Only watch the dub if you wanna hear Kazuma and Ren's voices. Ayano's gets very annoying, but it doesn't ruin the anime too badly. With that said, I would round this up to 8/10.
