First off, I just want to mention that this anime is really gory. Yes, it should be expected since it's about vampires but we're not talking about just drops of blood or pools of blood but like torn limbs, exposed bones, guts, and brain spatters. I didn't mean to get into the details but I just wanted to say this first before I go into my review. I am not a big fan of this but I did finish it because I did want to visually experience the power of Alucard the vampire. Please continue for details.

Story 9/10
Without giving too much, you have a large plot that occurs in the present time of the story but it is built upon a plot that was developed in the past. It's not a very intricate plot but it can get a bit overwhelming with the number of the groups that become involved in the war at the end. It involves politics, religion, and supernatural. I think, though, the whole anime revolves around Alucard with other characters playing smaller roles. See character for a little bit more information.

Art 8/10
As I mentioned earlier, the graphics are gory. The artistic style was very dark so when there are moments with comic relief, it was a stark contrast to the overall style.

Sound 10/10
I like the opening song and a couple of other soundtracks of this anime. It's a blend of dark and smooth r&b if that's a correct way to describe it but I loved the music.

Character 10/10
As I mentioned earlier, the whole story revolves around Alucard. Initially, you see him as the superhero who does not care about anything but killing but then as the anime progresses, you begin to learn more about his past which was disturbing for me. I don't want to say too much but his character is probably the most complex since he is at the center of the three areas introduced in this anime: politics, religion, and vampire. You will be surprised by what happens to a couple of characters. I think the strength of this anime is the character development.

Enjoyment 8/10 and Overall 8/10
I'm not a big fan of the gory depictions in this anime but I would say that there is a resolution to this story. I did enjoy the smaller characters that played a larger role in the end.
