This anime is so hard for me to nail, because my god is it one of my personal favorites, in fact, in my personal top ten, this show ranks 2. But I have to be objective as I love reviewing anime. So, let's get started.

story: 7/10
The story of hellsing ultimate is so simple it's ridiculous. In the setting, which would be England, the hellsing organization is around to eliminate all undead threats to said England. Which in a nutshell means they send Alucard out to kill all enemies, and.... That's it. part two of this story would be the war that takes place in London. And unfortunately that's all there really is to the story, but thankfully, it also doesn't need to be great.

art and animation: 10/10
The animation for hellsing ultimate is pretty freaking awesome, and it was handled by multiple companies and never dropped in quality. This is more noticeable from episode 5 and on, because the budget just seemed to skyrocket, cause it looks amazingggggg from episodes 5-10. The 3D parts of the animation, unlike most 3D work, actually looks pretty amazing. it uses the 3D on the weapons most noticeably, which normally throws people off, but in this instance it went very well with how the show went. However the animation shined in this show's greatest strength, and that is the action scenes, as this show has some seriously AMAZING action scenes. So huge praise on the animation and art.

sound: 10/10
Hellsing ultimate's sound, is it's next biggest strength, as the show has one, a great epic amazing epic feeling soundtrack, that fits well with the war of London and the epic action scenes that it helps to make that much better. And two, this show has such a good dub, it might as well never be heard in sub. Not to mention the show has no one AT ALL that is Japanese, so if there's an anime meant for a western audience, believe me this is it. Also, to further note, the show has no opening just some eary creepy sounds to start your dark adventure into hellsing. But the ending themes from episodes 1-6 are just dull war sounding intrumentals, but from episodes 7-9 you have ending theme songs that along with the animated pictures they show with it, are amazinggggggg. so again, HUGE props to the sound department.

Characters: 8/10
Now before I go into detail with the characters, I'll just address the elephant in the room, obviously Alucard is the favorite of many in hellsing, and while I think Alucard is amazing, along with the rest of this cast of loveable characters, the show is all about everyone being as badass as possible. That being said, in that regard the characters are amazing, and flawless. However, what we got were just that characters, we know NOTHING about any of them other than, Integra, Alucard's master and whom he is bound to. Seras, alucard's vampire sidekick because he saved her life because why the fuck not, he's Alucard, the major (the villan) and we know a litttttttle bit about Alucard himself. And as far as the rest of them go, we know absolutely nothing about them. father Anderson, nothing, pip bennedotte, barely, and side antagonist enrico Maxwell, barely anything as well. And it's a real shame too because these characters are entertaining as all hell to watch, but the show decided not to flush them out at all. and the people we do get info on, it's very brief. but the highpoint on all of them, is that their script was written by the god of rule of cool and epicness himelf or something because the dialogue in hellsing is badass and never had me bored once. so major props there.

Enjoyment and overall: 9/10
While this show does a few things wrong and flops any form of backstory, this show will never cease to entertain you and get your blood rushing with adrenaline. This show is nothing but popcorn matireal and all about the rule of cool, and that's why you are able to overlook these problems and just say wow. It is a must watch for any action fan.
