Story 9.5/10: I refuse to believe the pacing was bad when they took so much time perfecting the story and even giving us 45 minute epics. Without adding to many spoilers the story follows a legendary Vampire named Alucard(dracula) who is pet vampire to Sir Integra Hellsing the descendant of Van Hellsing himself who bested Alucard Centuries ago. He carries out his job as Vampire hunter for the Hellsing organization. Intrigued yet? It gets much better quite quickly into the story you learn of a group named Millennium a group of neo nazi's self proclaimed the Letze Battalion(last battalion) has now reappeared after everyone thought they had been destroyed many years ago by Alucard and the angel of death(you'll learn him later) Meanwhile the plot starts to introduce the catholic church/pope's holy army which slowly starts to get involved in this fight as well. This all makes for an EPIC war which you must experience for yourself! Just short from perfect.
Art 10/10: Not much needs to be said about the Art, they took almost a year on each episode just to make sure everything especially the art was phenomenal. It is rare you will find an art style on par with HU.
Sound 10/10: The Japanses dub was pretty darn good by itself, but if you truly want to enjoy this anime in full I recommend the English dub. Man did they hit it out of the park with German, Italian, and English accents/language devices it's probably one of the best dubs I have ever seen. This accompanied by incredibly soundFX(war cries, swords, bones breaking, sliceing, ect) really can't say enough good things about it.
Characters 9/10: Now this is where the series sort of has a couple of flaws, there are a couple of whacky characters like Seras Victoria(big tittied police girl) and oh god Schrodinger(weird neko nazi) that really kind of turn you off, but hey they will give you a couple of whacky laughs and they don't ruin the serious element of the episode or take away from the MC's. Other than that most of the characters are incredibly badass and intriguing. You will find yourself falling in love with even the villains because of the way they are presented, it's almost like trying to figure out the greater evil? Hard to explain you have to experience it for yourself.
Enjoyment 11/10: one of the all time greats for time to come. You know it's legendary when the fans waited 6 years for it to steadily come along. You hardly even heard people complaining because they were just in awe of the current released episode. This is a dark gothic horror story for the ages with elements of Historical events and folklore. I found myself on the edge of my seat the entire 6 years.
