I'm a big fan of fantasy, but every once in a while I like to get sucked into something more gritty and realistic, and this show fit the bill perfectly. It was just... truly heartbreaking, and Mari has got to be the most noble anime character I've ever seen.
The art design wasn't super flashy, but it was fitting. The real detail went into the buildings crumbling down, and their simple design made you realize that the three protagonists are really just three in hundreds of people displaced by the earthquake... And the sound... The music tugged at my emotions as well, particularly in the last episode, but more than anything, this show understood the power of silence.
I wish I could give you more without going into major spoilers. Just... watch it. It's a show I think everyone should see at least once.
