Mixed Feelings
****This review may contain minor spoilers, but nothing explicit

I went into this anime expecting an awful lot. The first episode was packed with what I thought was a nice mix of exposition, humor, and world-building. It introduces us to our protagonist Yuu, a teenager with the power to jump into other peoples' bodies, if only for a few seconds. Using this power, he easily climbs his way to the top, going to the very best schools and always being the best in his class. He's arrogant, selfish, and narcissistic, all incredible things to pack into a protagonist whose purpose as a character is to grow. I personally love characters like this (Kanie Seiya from Amaburi is an exceptional example of this type of character), but by the end of the series (and maybe even by the end of the 2nd episode), he'd lost this charm that he had to him. If I were to sum up this show, it would be about on-par with how I would sum up the protagonist; interesting at first, but gradually declining in quality until there was nothing special about him.

Story: 6 Fair
The story isn't anything special or unique. Teenagers with super powers attend a school to prevent these powers from falling into the wrong hands. Pretty cliche and average, but what made it interesting for a moment were the characters, namely the protagonist. The first half of the series is pretty much episodic, with a sort of "super-powered teenager of the week" vibe, until a certain event triggers a change in the protagonist and suddenly, the plot takes a nose-dive into Poor Anime Territory. It's cool at first, with a major plot twist that makes thing suddenly a lot more interesting, but as it goes on, it feels tiring, like all the exposition the show had beforehand is unnecessary and almost feels like a time waster. All the time that the show spent developing a bunch of side characters that would never be seen again could've easily been put towards developing the rest of the plot that would come in the second half. Instead, they chose to rush the ending and pack nearly everything into the very last episode.
TL;DR Poor pacing killed the plot.

Art: 7 Good
I personally enjoyed the art style. It was a bit too moe for my tastes, but the choice in colors and backgrounds was pleasing to look at. The eyes though. The BIG ANIME EYES. The expressions shown in the characters were exceptional though.

Sound: 9 Great
Very good OST. I personally wasn't a fan of the OP but it did fit the mood of the show, despite not being very catchy. BGM was also good, not a lot to say here. I'd listen to the OST of this show.

Character: 3 Poor
Here's the show's biggest problem. It sets up our protagonists to be a group of friends who, despite their misunderstandings and clashing personalities, come together and learn from each other and eventually, help each other develop and grow as people (especially the MC, who needs a whole lot of development). However, to me, it seems like they don't even attempt to do this. Sure, they hang out and have some good times together, but by the end of the day, all our side protagonists never changed. They never became better people. Yuu remains confused as to everything that's going on and suffers immensely all because he cheated on his exams, Tomori is still short-tempered and a loner. Yusa hardly gets ANY screentime, and almost none of it is meant to develop her character (not even sure why she ended up being part of the main group, she really wasn't anything special), and Takajo is still a mindless fanboy with little personality. All in all, I believe the 3 side protagonists were only meant to help push the plot along and teach Yuu about his powers, rather than be their own characters and develop as a result of external factors from the developing plot. Yuu completely drops his cool guy narcissist act after episode 2, so his only source of being an interesting character disappears with it. In the end, he and the other student council members hardly changed from when they first met.
Moving on to the romance between Yuu and Tomori, all I have to say is that it was entirely unnecessary and almost out of the blue. They never show any romantic interest towards each other until episode 11, and even Tomori seems reluctant to acknowledge it. It baffles me why it was even put in, since it added nothing to the characters, nothing to the plot, and was never alluded to or developed throughout all 10 episodes preceding it.

Enjoyment: 6 Fair
All in all, this anime is a great time waster, but it's not good to watch with high expectations, as it will probably shatter all of them. The characters are tasteless and add nothing to the already average plot, and its potential as an anime is wasted with the realization that it is just an average show. There's little that saves this anime and makes it worth watching, so in all honesty, if you're reading this to try and decide whether or not you should watch it, I say don't bother.
