So I finally got around to watching this special and I must admit I was skeptical at first. The Davy Back Fight arc in the anime had to be one of if not my least favorite part of the cannon One Piece story so when I heard Foxy was returning once more I cringed a little. However, all in all this was a pretty solid feature with some signature One Piece comedy and that iconic final fight we get with every new film installment.

Story/Character:
The beginning of this movie definitely did not give me the greatest first impression as I found myself pausing many times to do something else and coming back. It felt like it was just going to be a silly repeat of the Davy Back arc with a twist and some new characters to boot. However, when they make it to Nebulandia (after the typical kidnap scenario) things really start to pick up. The one thing I just can't stop myself from harping on in this movie is Komei. I can not stress enough how much we needed a villain like Komei in this movie who far over shadows completely nonsensical boring villains like Golden Lion Shiki. He had a clear motive closely following that of Z's with less civilian involvement, very unique utilization, and while he has a gag like other One Piece characters it wasn't something that drew away from the seriousness of his character. By the end of the movie Foxy even grew on me a bit which I certainly wasn't expecting.

Overall:
I don't need to go over art and sound for One Piece since we know exactly what we are getting. So, overall I found this to be a very entertaining special and would recommend watching it. It's not perfect but the introduction of Komei and some other quirks here and there didn't make me feel like I completely wasted my time.
