I'm pretty sure that you probably know about the extreme ecchi (people getting organsms when they eat food....etc) in this series. So straight up, I'm just going to say:

DON'T WATCH IT IF YOU GET BOTHERED/HATE ECCHI/FANSERVICE
WATCH IT IF YOU DON'T MIND/ENJOY IT

That's basically all you need to know, but if you still want the details, here you go:

Story 7/10:
The story is pretty ordinary and predictable really. A mc who wants to surpass his father, blah blah blah. But the part I like most about the story is the fact that Tostuki is such a strict academy, so there's a lot of suspense every episode with constant competition between the mc and his rivals and friends. Other than that, there's nothing really significant about the story.

Art 5/10:
The art is good besides from all the fanservice. Its just too overwhelming and extreme.

Sound 9/10:
I personally thought the soundtrack was great (especially the second opening), but they reused a lot of the same OSTs during the anime.

Character 8/10:
Some might argue that the characters in this show are cliche, but I still think they're pretty amazing. Even if they are cliche, they're more like an upgraded version of those characters. Soma is just your typical "never gives up", strong but wants to improve character, but I just can't help look up to him because of his spirit and how he helps his friends, even rivals. I also love how minor characters also get to prove how awesome they are in the last part of the show. The negative part about the characters is their development. There's hardly any character development besides Megumi's, so this makes this show not "deep" and stuff, but is that really that bad?

Overall, Shokugeki no Souma might be on my favorites list, but I have to admit, there are a lot of flaws that need to be fixed in order for this to be a 10/10 show. But still watch this show if you don't mind fanservice.
