But when you think about it, Season 2 has its high points. It's completely necessary to watch this season; yes, even before watching the movie.
I loved season 2. To me, I feel like I could rewatch this season before watching Season 1. Why? I love how Akane's character grew. She was just a flower in season 1; with Shinya's absence, she budded into a beautiful rose. Just watching her, in itself, gave me fulfilled enjoyment.
The action is still there, and so it the whole idea of Sybil. You're left to ponder to yourself, even if you don't agree with the lady protagonist, why she's still working for Sybil. Her answer is definitely insightful.
Now characters -- It broke my heart that practically a few branch of characters were introduced. It even was a little too much for my heart!
The purpose of Season 2, was to give you a fill-in for the movie, so you're not left behind. IT also, helps you see Akane's transformation.
Shinya isn't completely left out - his presence hasn't been forgotten, that is. Akane lights a cigarette, to remind herself of him and help her think like he would.
I have to say, I loved the criminals of Season 2. The finale isn't something you'd want to miss either. Kyaa!
Thing is, don't let yourself go in with the hype. Make your own judgement.
