It was nice art and a decent idea of placing magic in a school setting in the future. I won't give any spoilers, but overall this anime was pretty good. I liked the sound effects too. I don't know how they made them, but that was cool (actually though it's interesting to listen to the sound effects for each spell). I'm probably just a sucker for any anime nowadays that doesn't have a stupid useless main character, but this show comes off a bit too much on the high end of that. Our protagonist is exceptional in everything he does and this leaves essentially no room for character development, and we don't see much in the way of development apart from secondary characters. I would rate this a 6.5 because of great art and sounds and story, but then I realized that the art is actually pretty decent so I decided to give it a 7. Worth a watch if you like magic anime with a strong male protagonist.
