I picked up this series in early 2012. And I mention the year because it was a time when the world had driven itself mad with that nauseating "Twilight Saga". However, through the fog of madness walked a pale, tall stranger wearing a red coat and a big toothy grin. Alucard had come to my rescue.

What I enjoyed about this show is that there is no Good vs Evil, it's only Evil vs Relatively Less Evil. The story in itself is cliche. But what makes the anime enjoyable is its animation and characters. The final few episodes were animated by Studio Madhouse, so as you can imagine, the end of the series looked beautiful (in a blood n gore kinda way).

Since this ten part, OVA follows the manga storyline more closely, it has a sense of completion about it and coming to characters, well they are all fairly unidimensional with only Schrodinger being the one character whose uniqueness I truly enjoyed. If you enjoy violence and vampires then this series will definitely provide you with your fix.
