Before watching After Story, the only anime aside the Clannad series that made me cry was Toradora (the part when Taiga realized she wants Takasu). Well, Angel Beats made me sob a little, but mainly Toradora was the best in the heart-crunching, tear-and-snot-inducing, i-dont-care-if-you're-a-manly-guy-you-WILL-cry category.
Well that was BEFORE watching this anime. Anime's like these generally have high ratings when it makes you emotionally attached to its characters. And it succeeded exceptionally in this regard. After Story IS the anime.
The story is very good (well except at the very end, the notch went down a little bit but it was expected since the beginning).
The characters are developed phenomenally and the pacing is really good.
And since I assume everyone here already watched Clannad, by this time the art would have already grown on you.
If you haven't watched Clannad, then stop. Watch it first, you won't regret it.
Overall, all anime lovers, even those who don't like dramas, this anime is a MUST WATCH.
