Mixed Feelings
Most reviews for Owari no Seraph don't have many good things to say. This dystopian vampire story lacks a lot, but it's not terrible. I'll touch on some things I found repeated in many of the reviews I read before i decided to try Owari no Seraph and see for myself if it was horrible or decent.

So, one of the main lacking points for this anime is the plot. Many people say it's just a copy of Attack on Titan with vampires instead of titans. Well, they do have a point. Omari no Seraph has a main character who loses his family to monsters, becomes revenge hungry, decides to join the army to fight the monsters, ends up being part monster himself. Yeah, basically the same as Attack on Titan, I can agree to that. HOWEVER, Owari no Seraph does diverge onto it's own path occasionally. For instance, the main reason I stuck with Owari no Seraph was because of the relationships between the characters. This anime does a nice job giving each character their own driving force and complicated past. It's really the characters that save this anime, because in my opinion, everything else just fell below the bar.

Overall, what I'm trying to say is don't let yourself get caught up in how Owari no Seraph is so similar to other anime, or else you'll never like it. Instead, just enjoy it for what it is, which is your generic shounen anime...with vampires.
