Parasyte is probably one of the dumbest animes I've ever seen... but that's not necessarily an awful thing. To start things off, the technical aspects such as sound, artwork, were all great. The soundtrack was a little weird with the dubstep/EDM music but I got used to it. The real problems lie in the story and the characters. The characters for the most part were fairly forgettable. Besides Shinchi and Migi, everyone else was completely expendable. And don't even get me started on THE WORST LOVE STORY EVER!!!!!!!! This makes Twilight look like Romeo+Juliet!!! It was so forced and unnecessary and it was blatantly obvious that they did it to try and show some sort of depth to these characters. But it fell completely flat for me and I didn't buy it for a second. And the finale is probably one of the worst finales I have ever seen in an anime. It was SO INCREDIBLY DUMB!!! But with all this said, I can't find myself hating the show. It was still incredibly entertaining even if it was so stupid. The violence and creature designs were jaw-dropping (pun-intended). I can recommend this to people if they go in knowing it's not some insightful anime that questions societal norms here. This is pure stupid fun entertainment to the max. Just turn off your brain and enjoy what you see and you will have a blast.... while shouting at the screen saying how stupid this show is.
