What can I say about this anime that hasn't been said? Grisaia no Kajitsu, an adaptation of the popular visual novel, was something I never thought I'd enjoy, let alone watch. This is one of those anime that make you wanna say, "OMG, I can't believe that happened!" and have that scene repeat over and over in your head.

I haven't played the visual novel myself, but I think the animation was quite loyal. To be honest, when I first saw the first 3 episodes, I thought it was just going to be another mainstream harem anime with a mainstream harem ending. I was wrong. When I saw just how dark the anime got, it immediately got my attention.

For the characters, they're quite relatable, even though I've never experienced what they have. Each heroine had their own dark past, some worse than others. Unlike some anime adaptations, The characters here seemed so real, it felt like each of them were real people. I'm just glad the heroines got their happy ending in the same universe.

I recommend this anime to anyone who wants something light and dark at the same time. If you liked school days, Yosuga no Sora, or other VN adaptations, Grisaia no Kajitsu is a must watch.
