I disagree with most on this one. It felt like the writers couldn't even figure out who the characters identities were throughout most of the series. I found myself rooting against the main characters and didn't even feel bad for his mistakes because he was such an idiot and so incredibly naive. Usually if the MC is a weakling/pansy you at least make him intelligent or capable in other ways, but that just wasn't the case with this one.

Small spoiler below about MC:
-First the MC is sitting there wishing he had the power to change and do something
-Then gets the power,
-Then is even a bigger pansy and says what a burden it is and he doesn't want it
-Then from there it's a shit show of him switching from a pansy, to dictator, and going through all sorts of mental anguish/personal changes due to his naivety and failure to see anything for what it is or even think of possible outcomes of his actions beforehand.

Haruka & Gai were the only 2 characters I was able to root for in that anime.
