I guess it is up to me to write a review that doesn't make this anime seem like a total waste of you time, because it is not. Plastic Memories is an anime that a appealed to me ever since I first saw it, and I finally got to it recently. Overall, I would agree that the anime is pretty average, about a 7, good but nothing special. Th thing is, the anime has a whole lot of charm, and I think that is why I enjoyed it so much.

Story(8/10)
It seems as though many were expecting this to be a huge emotional mess with huge ideas and some revolutionary something. Maybe, because I don't expect things from an anime, I wasn't left feeling disappointing not getting what I wanted from it. Th story has a very cool concept that I have yet to see. I found the anime to be well paced, though it could have benefited from being a little bit longer, as episodes-10 take place in a month, then 11-13 suddenly jump through a month, so that felt a little under developed. Don't let that discourage you, however, there is still enough for the story to develop well. I found the comedy, romance, and slice of life elements to be really enjoyable, as they are the strong points. Th end was fittingly sad, but that wasn't the focus. I believe that the anime wanted you to focus on the happy and fun moments, demonstrating the ideals of the show itself, which is why you won't be an emotional wreck at the end of the show, like many people seemed to have wanted.

Art(7/10)
Th art is good, but nothing special. I was hoping for the anime to be a little prettier, and I wanted to give it an 8, but it never seemed to have a special flair to it. Maybe it was those super thick white highlights.

Sound(7/10)
Like the art, the sound was good, but nothing to lose your pants over. I really enjoyed the voice acting, though. The background music and ambient are nice, but nothing that will keep me up at night for.

Character(9/10)
I really like the characters here, I thought they were great. The only complaint I have is that a few of the characters seemed unimportant or seemed to have no impact on the story, but I can only think of a few characters that fit that description. Focusing on the rest, there may not have been anything directly outstanding compared to other anime, but they were well developed. The character development was also really solid, and didn't seem like anyone suddenly had a change of heart, or seemed like they didn't change at all. I say that for the main characters, naturally secondary characters won't have the same kind of development.

Enjoyment(8/10)
I had a really good time with the anime. It was an easy watch, but still had an impact. It was simple, clean, and solid. I finished it in about four days in three episode chunks, and it was a good pace for it. There isn't much else to say about that.

So in the end I thought Plastic Memories was great. It was a very solid show that wasn't weak in any particular point. It was paced well and had likable characters. I would recommend this to people looking for a show with a nice laid back feel and some good comedy. I also recommend this to people who like something that isn't too taxing, but has a good emotional side as well. I do not recommend this to people who want something that will keep them up at night, make them cry their eyes out, or have some revelation. As I said before, the anime itself represented the concepts within it, to leave you with happy memories in the end, not sad ones.
