Story 8/10

What you’ll hear from many people is that the story/plot from most ecchi anime are not very good or well put together, and focus more on the ecchi aspect. I think that statement is proven wrong by the great storyline that develops through this season. The plot slowly picks up the pace and builds up character development quite well until you're matched with some great action scenes. The well thought out dialogue and setting truly do the plot justice, and might I add, it’s well deserved. Personally, I feel they did a great job on balancing the key aspects like the ecchi, with the story aspect. I have to admit though, there are some points where you may feel like the story is moving along slowly, but it'll make up it. It can surely put you in a spot where you are asking for more and wondering what will happen next.

Characters 8/10

I thought the characters were a nice addition to the anime. Its nice when you have very different and unique characters that maybe you can relate to in some way. There are, ofcourse the cliches when it comes to ecchi anime but that's too be expected. The main protagonist, Issei Hyoudou, your average highschool boy in love with oppai and perverted as ever. Although there is a nice twist on things, instead, his powers work off of his pervertedness and you can see them slowly improve through time. Rias Gremory, another high school student, also known as the most beautiful girl at the school. Has a nice and unique background that can keep you intrigued, not only are her devil powers interesting, but she also has great oppai ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°). Other characters are also unique, like Akeno Himejima, the lighting using sadistic queen. As Well as Koneko for all you Loli’s out there. Also Kiba who is quite interesting once you get to learn more about him and see his unique power and fighting.

Sound 9/10

In my opinion, The sound is one of the best parts of this anime. The background music always fits the scene well and are pleasing to the ear. Dramatic scenes are definitely enhanced by the strategically placed background music that can be very strong and powerful. Peaceful scenes accompanied with the music can also help to set the atmosphere. The Voice Actors are nice, they are also fitting to each character, no complaints here. I feel if I was to have read the Light Novels first I would have imagined there voices just as they are. Now for my favourite part, The OP and ED! The Opening, Trip - Innocent of D is always great to listen to, although that's most likely because I’m a sucker for electric guitar. The Ending, STUDY X STUDY is also another great addition. Usually I would skip ED’s but I actually really enjoyed this one, it fits well with the anime.

Art 8/10

The art from the anime is nice and although it's not compared to other/larger studios it's still very nice. It definitely fits with the atmosphere given to the watcher, and I enjoy the way it looks. the animation during fighting scenes, they were certainly intriguing to me atleast. And that is a pretty important aspect to have when it comes to animation quality.

Overall 8/10

Overall, DxD was a pretty great watch for me considering it was the first anime I watched ( I’ve rewatched since then). The story constantly put me in a spot where I was asking for more. The characters could make me smile and laugh or wonder. The sounds was intriguing and kept me interested. Although there are some mistakes like every anime, I thought this was a great watch in the end.
