Golden Time is an excellent romantic story that has all you could desire from a classic bestselling romantic novel. It begins with a solid story, character relationships grow gradually, the plot is okay-ish in the beginning.

However, in the middle parts and after that -- the story becomes mother of Goku level beautiful. Seriously, there's no other word. As the story nears its end, you would be hard pressed to feel (if you're like me, that is) "Dude, don't give me a romantic tragedy. Had enough of them."

Keeping spoilers out of way there's nothing much I can elaborate on. In fact, other aspects like art and characters don't make sense at all in the anime because the story is so beautiful after the middle part. It will just grip you. Needless to say, I watched it in one go and that's what you're going to do.

So, let's get a bit philosophical about it. What actually makes Golden Time an excellent romantic story? Basically, the protagonist's internal struggle. Don't worry, it might feel like you're reading some spoilers but they're not.

Internal struggle between two sides of himself -- pre-accident and post-accident where being conscious of one part means losing the other. It has been, in the very conclusion when you will be crying your eyeballs out (probably, not my thing) -- you'll see the whole point of the anime.

The creators have crafted two separate personalities and in the end, they satisfied both of them. In a way, you can say a conflict of ideas and personalities both managed to get satisfied in the end. This is the most beautiful thing about Golden Time.

Simply put, you'll love it. Best romantic anime I've watched in a while.
