What I will say is that you have to consider the popularity of the show. There is a reason that it is so popular!
There's a reason that people say "School Days" in nearly silent whispers of contempt, or as if they are in on the joke and that you should be too, or as if there's something creeping up their backs and they hope you'll help remove whatever it is, or even as if it's the name of a secret delectable meal that they have had just had the guilty pleasure of eating but are still hesitant to tell you about because they don't want you judging their appetites.
School Days is the anime people want you to see but they don't want to be responsible for telling you about. They don't want the responsibility of having told you about it, have you see it, then hold them accountable for the torrent of cascading emotions pouring from your inner being - both good and bad.
This is one anime that most people SHOULD SEE and then judge for themselves! Everyone who does view it will have different opinions of what they saw.
At the end everyone does have the same reaction though...
"WTF DID I JUST WATCH?!?"
So... are you brave enough? If not then go watch something less tame and controversial, and you'll be happy.
If you're reckless and want to see something entirely different then buckle up for the ride... it's a MOTHERFUCKER!
