The overall plot is just average because again it is light. It focuses more on the action and adventure side. The ending has a lot of loose ends. It is one of those that will give you the “that’s it” reaction after you have seen the last episode. Seriously, it left me hanging out there. The ending is the most crucial because it will justify the time and effort one has given to watch the whole anime. No matter how great the story, if the ending sucks, it turns everything into trash.
The phasing of the story is slow but almost all of the episodes have fighting scenes. it took some time before the problem of the story unfolds.
Characters
All the characters personality is just the same throughout the series. There was no build-up or even development of new personality whit in the characters except maybe for Chaika when she knew the truth of her existence. Even the skills of the characters didn’t develop until the last episode. I felt that they haven’t reached their full potential because it seems that all the battles they have faced was not a challenge to them. Toru may have evolved in the last episode but he was not given a real fight in that state. Even Fredrica, her full strength wasn’t showcase. It was not even clear whose side she is because her lending of help was always conditional and she was always the assist type.
Drawing
The drawing was just average as well. The only thing I found amusing was the flying fortress. There were no swords of weapons that I found exceptional and unique except for Niva.
If you are looking for an anime that is not complex but has a lot of fighting scenes, then this anime will do just fine. It also contains some funny scenes that successfully made me laugh.
