I was bored and desperate to quench my anime thirst when I've come crossed to a list of the upcoming spring anime, with Gangsta standing out. I was not quite impressed with the art, but I still gave the anime a chance due to its explosive hype train. It was quite entertaining at first but after that, everything went downhill.

Story (8/10) -
I'm very conflicted on what rating to give on the story--Gangsta had given me life and at the same time, vexed me to death. The first few episodes didn't disappoint me but as the plot continue thickens, the storyline grew convuluted. Little by little, I lost my interest. It's a pity since the characters were beautifully crafted, and the concept beholds a lot of potential. The trio, Benriya, motivated me to finish this. Actually, I just watched the last episode and i'm so baffled and upset that i could probably flip a table right now. I could have given it a 9 or a 10 but the ending totally ruined my state of nirvana. I know there is a great possibility of a season 2 but producer-sans, you cannot earn hype with that trivial and horrible ending.

Art (5/10)
Terrible. I am not an expert about anything art-related but the animation is just plain appaling. The action and dramatic scenes were unmistakably appealing BUT the smallest details cannot go unnoticed. Facial features and body structures drawn deformed, either close up or long shot. You have one job, Bandai, one job.

Overall (7/10)
I could have given a higher rating if the producers of this anime could have utilized its potential very well. The story was interesting. I enjoyed the interaction of the characters and its badass concept. The art disturbed me. Overall, I feel like it could be better. Without those contrived scenes, Gangsta could actually become one of the top.
