Plastic Memories is a good anime with feels.

What I liked about the story is that it puts forward a pretty heavy question, "If you knew exactly when you would die, what would you and the people around you do?" It presents it in a easily believable way where, instead of somehow limiting human's lifespans to an absolute period, the human-like androids have a limited time before its software malfunctions.

It merely glosses over them but interesting issues are presented that might arise from having android akin to humans, "If AI have emotions, should they have rights?" The show mentions early on that these androids have "Synthetic Souls", which may lead to questions, "Can something created by man have a soul?", "What is a soul?", "What has a soul?" Also, when an android malfunctions, "Can it still be considered "human"?", "Would forcefully shutting it down in this state be considered the same as killing a wild and dangerous animal or a human?"

Actually, those were probably mostly stuff I thought up by extension.

The ending song, Asayake no Starmine, was great at representing Isla, one of the two main protagonists. Or just generally sad, yet hopeful.

Anyway, it has a gentle type of feels, you can see it from a ways off but it seems like it was done deliberately to give viewers time to come to terms with the fact that the tragedy is inevitable.
