Fifth Review - Fairy Tail

Fairy Tail, an anime that is now pretty much as popular as Naruto, One Piece and Bleach. To be quite honest when I first saw this anime I wasn't that into anime and straight away after the first two episodes I passed it by, however as I started to get more into anime I came back to this. Now? It's actually one of my favourites, I loved all the different plots that go on with Fairy Tail, it doesn't stick with just one plot it has multiple plots. This helps to keep the show entertaining, it helps to keep the viewer engrossed into the anime.

In my honest opinion I find that the whole of Fairy Tail is based on Lucy Heartfilia, a girl that it followed from the very start of the series, showing you how she meets Natsu Dragneel. As the show continues to go on it's focused around this girl, it shows you what she does now that she joined a guild, Fairy Tail. Oh yes the name of the show, why? because of course it's about this guild and it's members. But still, it always focuses on Lucy of all the characters.

The characters of Fairy Tail in general is well thought of, it doesn't show you straight away about the characters, it develops them as the anime goes. As the series continues it develops the characters and shows their pasts, who they are, and why they are in Fairy Tail. It also doesn't go too far into the characters, again keeping it more so focused on Lucy. however all the characters are unique and all have funny habits which is the comical side of Fairy Tail, it keeps you laughing even when things are sometimes serious. Some characters in my opinion can be overpowered however, Jellal being one of the characters I especially hate, his magic was just OP and didn't make much sense. Another being Natsu, he's 'weaker' than Erza yet in the anime he always overpowers 'bad guys' and it's getting old because it's always focused on Natsu and his overpowered magic abilities.

One major disadvantage to Fairy Tail is the fact they keep bringing in new characters and they try to keep the old on screen, which in fact is blocking the anime with just loads of characters. I do like however that they keep coming back to older characters from other guilds but trying to squeeze loads of characters in one episode can be messy.

To me Fairy Tail was enjoying and it kept me engaged, I wanted to catch up to the current episode and keep updated with new episodes. My favourite character was Erza Scarlet and still is, the characters are in general all great with their own unique personalities and habits. I loved the animation as it was up-to-date and was realistic in some way. The sounds in Fairy Tail was also a detail I loved, the music that was used was very detailed and the instrumental elements were really planned and thought of, merging with the plot and scene within the anime. The openings of Fairy Tail was also lovely, they were soothing in some area and rough in others, depending on the plot that was happening. I couldn't even you my favourite music theme or opening as there are a lot of great music, even when it was sad music it went well with the plot and the characters situated with it.

Honestly, Fairy Tail can be quite repetitive within it's story line, as it follows the same pattern. however to me it was still interesting to watch, the only thing that always annoyed me was the OP Natsu, that randomly got powerful out of nowhere. This isn't the BEST anime that is out there but in my opinion it is one that has made an impact in the anime world.
