Honestly this was incredibly better than the first season, I loved that more characters got more higher roles than Kirito (Main Protagonist). The plot was better than the first season as well, it wasn't all based upon one guy being overpowered (although for the first half I guess you could say he was still OP.) The plot however gets better, the second half of the season, was my favourite in all of SAO so far.
New characters were introduced and a whole new world, this meant more to see and new introductions. The new characters where well developed and well thought of in my eyes, they had their own personalities and they had their own crazy thoughts.
Another great thing was the animation and the art, SAO never disappoints me with this (as I am a computer geek and work in IT) It's outstanding and shows of what creators can do with modern technology.
Overall, I enjoyed this a lot better than the first season, definitely the second half, I really loved that it wasn't all about one boy and his fantasy Harem. If you loved SAO then you'll love this too, if you hated the Harem-type side of SAO then this is better for you. I gave this high marks as I did really enjoy it and I did love the characters and the story.
A lot of people hate and really take their anger out on this series, but honestly I think it has been a good series so far, the first was rushed and could have shown more, and the Harem-ness could have been laid off, but I really liked this series and if you enjoy games and adventure in them then this is a great anime showing that side. Honestly, this is probably what we will be ending up like in the future anyway!
