I put off watching Sword Art Online II for so long, and to be honest, I wish I hadn't. I only started watching it because my friend Raydon convinced me to.

So the story seems fairly simple at first. A new virtual game for an adaptation of the Nerve Gear. Some random guy is on a stream bragging about winning some contest. Then, a strange cloaked figure walks into the pub. He proclaims that he and his gun share the same name: Death Gun. He shoots at the guy on the stream. Suddenly, the guy on screen clutches at his heart and disconnects from the server.

Out of every villain I have ever seen in an anime, none of them have genuinely intimidated me like Death Gun did. Every time he was on screen, I had my hands covering my mouth wondering what he would do. Accompanied by his ominous theme, he dominates the screen. Get into the anime more and you find out his background. It's truly a frightening experience.

Personally, as was the same in the second half of Sword Art Online, I wasn't a huge fan of returning to Alfheim. While the reward was interesting, the plot idea seemed rushed and just a filler so that they could get to New Aincrad. The ending is very sad and if you watch the anime you will see why.

Overall, Sword Art Online II is worth watching and I did enjoy it. I personally would rewatch it up until the second half, but otherwise very well done. Hoping for Season 3 :)
