Might include minor spoilers, I'm not sure what kind of spoilers are worth being called spoilers for slice of life anime.

Story (7/10)
The story revolve around a lot of pratice sessions, and the club's internal problems regarding the upcoming competition. Afterall, this anime is about improving their music play.

Rant: The bad score doesn't signify a bad plot or a lack of it, instead I think this anime had a lot (maybe even too much) of the plot. Having a 'Music' genre stamped to it, I reallt hoped I could have even more awesome musics being played rather than the story. But IMO this anime is focusing more on the story and internal problems in the ensemble team rather than actually playing music. Well maybe I'm wrong, but in total there are only 2 piece of music being played (actually make that 1 because the 1st one is not being played fully, only lasting for a few minutes). But they also have practice session which include some section of the music sometimes. Well, compared to Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso, that have like 6 (I forgot the count) pieces of music being played fully, it lost in comparison. Maybe it was the plot pacing's fault, if the pacing was stepped up a bit, we might even cover more competitions and and more awesome orchestral music's play. While I'm on it, the agata festival episode really felt out of the place.

But that might be just me, for people that doesn't mind the pacing, it might be perfect for them.

Art (10/10)
Great art, really awesome and good looking, it's almost perfect. What really amazes me was how it had depth of perception in every scenes possible, which we rarely even see in anime. The only downfall for me was the character design, don't get me wrong, I really like the character designs, a lot, what I don't like was the everpresent weird blush on the girls, feels off-putting sometimes.

Sound (10/10)
Despite what I said about lacking any actual full musics playing, the quality of the musics was great, it also depicts the training sessions beautifully. I just need more. Well, maybe hiring a wind ensemble to record the sounds was pricy for the anime productions.

Character (10/10)
I think the characters are great. I really love their personalities. They're not your standard moe chara. Despite how it looks real cute (as expected kyoani) a lot of them had some difficult personalities. Like how Kumiko looked like she had a generic good-girl personality, but constantly throwing her retorts of the things happening around her. And how Asuka have this I-don't-give-a-shit aura around her despite how friendly she looks.

Enjoyment (9/10)
If you liked slow pacing anime then this might be good for you.

Yuri (10/10)
Yuri is one of the aspect that made this anime great (for me at least). I loved how its treading between heartwarming-comedic-girl-friendship yuri and sakura trick level yuri.

Overall (9/10)
tl;dr Expect moe with a lot of wind ensemble team musical practice.
