One of the best examples of why you should never rush a story.

When I first saw the cover for Charlotte I thought it was just another slice of life anime with the typical high school setup. However, the synopsis intrigued me and I decided watch it as the episodes released.

The art and sound is very well done and the anime seems have a high productions value. The character design on the other hand seems a bit bland as the biggest differences between the characters is their hair color and style which unfortunately is rather common from slice of life.

But you should not and I repeat should not expect this to be another slice of life anime as you can also see from genres it is everything but that. The story starts off great but over the lenegth it becomes rushed. I think it could have easily have spaned over 25 episodes instead 13. The ending is kind of mixed of both good and bad which sadly makes it rather bland. Yet it had so much potential as it could have been up there besides some of the best anime have to offer. But for what it is the story is still good.

The main character is very interesting as the creators takes a rather unique approach. The MC's development over the course of the story is also intriguing but it suffers from same flaw that the story suffers from. The supporting cast feels very underdeveloped and because it is so rushed it is hard to relate to any of them.

I did enjoy Charlotte a lot but I do feel unsatisfied because of the rushed plot and the somewhat underdeveloped characters.

So overall while Charlotte is rushed it is still one the better animes. It's just disappointing that it could have been so much more given more time and better development.
