Preliminary (4/13 eps)
On on hand, there should really be one reason to ever watch this anime: because you read the visual novel, enjoyed it, and want to see your favorite scenes and characters animated. Especially Yuuji, the main character, because he was without a voice and wasn't ever seen very much in the VN. Now these two things the anime does very very well. It takes a lot of the core scenes from the VN, and even just some various memorable scenes are found, and it's really pleasant to see these scenes from a different perspective. The anime also does a very good job of animating Yuuji's character, his voice actor does a very excellent job at portraying Yuuji's naive, laid-back attitude, and the animation they put to him really fits into his character. They also do a fair job at recreating the scenes from the VN, which is impressive considering how little they had to work with from the random backgrounds in the VN.

But that's about where the good criticisms stop. And honestly, some of what they're doing that is good is taking away from the anime anyway. Just about everything, from the exact script and the scenes, to even just some actual animations from the original, is just an exact copy and paste from the VN. While this might not seem like a bad thing, it gets really old really quickly, because if you have read the VN, you're almost just re-reading the VN. If you haven't read the VN, though, it still falls apart though, because which scenes they choose to use and the overall pacing of the story is really really off, such that a viewer who doesn't already know what's going on will just be confused as to why certain things are happening as they are.

Besides that aspect, they also use the exact same music as was found in the VN, which would seem harmless except that one of the primary criticisms of the VN is that the music isn't that good. And it isn't any better in the anime version. All of the characters also always tend to stand in the exact same poses that were found in the VN's sprites very often, which makes them look very awkward when animated.

Overall, stepping aside from the comparison to the VN, the anime still is just low quality overall. The animation isn't that great overall, with some of the characters often looking very strange, their features being too odd to really take seriously. They also overuse a lot of generic anime tropes that nobody wants to see, such as flashing some girls' panties around at what seems like every single given opportunity.

In conclusion, I can't really recommend that anyone watch this anime. As an anime, it's very low quality, with poor pacing and awkward animation. As a replacement to the original visual novel, it doesn't cover nearly enough of every girls' story to really get the full effect of what they're going through. As an animation to follow reading the original VN, it can be fun to watch for a few episodes, but at the end of the day the bad just far outweighs the good, and it just isn't an enjoyable experience. If you're interested, I would highly recommend to rather go read the VN, because it is, overall, very well-made, and a very good and enjoyable read.

(Side note; I do encourage you to take my review with a grain of salt. I only actually watched 4 episodes of this, anime, so I don't know anything of the quality of the other 9 episodes. I am only telling you what I interpreted from having read the visual novel beforehand, and my experience in watching these 4 episodes, after which I decided that this anime was simply not worth my time)
