This anime is definitely one of my favorites! I seriously can't think of anything that really bothered me about it. It's a simple drama story with great music that I could recommend to almost anyone.

The story follows Kousei, a brilliant young pianist who lost his way after his mothers death. He quit playing the piano and his life became meaningless, until he met Kaori, a beautiful and talented young violinist who, along with his childhood friends and rivals, helps him find his way and brings color back to his life. The story is very simple, yet touching with many moments that'll have you cheering and crying in pre-recorded animated concerts. The characters develop immensely over the course of the show, by the end you can barely tell they are the same person. There are also well placed funny moments and characters to provide comic relief to keep you going.

The animation is breathtaking. Some moments will have you losing all sense of where you are as sheer beauty is presented to you, especially during the concert scenes.

The sound is a wonderful mix of great original scores and classical pieces by chopin, beethoven and many more, all fit very good with the animation. As for the voice acting, it is great thanks to the many wonderful voice actors casted to this anime that do a great job in conveying the characters' feelings in any given moment (among them one of my favorits, Yuuki Kaji, as Takeshi).

I know this show is not for everyone... But personally, it's been a very long time since I enjoyed an anime so much. There might be some little flaws here and there, but I couldn't see them over the beauty this show is. If you like good drama, good music or maybe you just want an anime to make you cry, I can say with full confidence; this anime is for you.
