To start off, I went ahead and read what people summarized about the Light Novels and their individual chapters after watching the anime just because I was curious to find out what happened next, but didn't feel like trying to find translations to spend countless hours reading.

May also contain spoilers for the anime as reference to ratings, so I will try to keep them minimum at best or at least try to censor them.

Story 5/10: The story is workable to an extent, but it goes virtually nowhere to explain the main characters, Tatsuya Shiba and Miyuki Shiba, or their other worldly strong abilities compared to literally anyone else. It touches the subject of Tatsuya near the end of the anime, in roughly the last 2 or 3 episodes, but by then they forced it into an unreasonable "Prophetic Doomsday" scenario. They also spiral out of control and describe, in excessive detail, the overly specific nature of some of the things happening in the show.

Art 7/10: Animated by the famous Madhouse, which means it is excellently fluid and well animated, especially during high-action moments. But this also means the chances for a second season is virtually none. Not that it is a bad thing, considering where the Light Novel is currently treading as of Volume 16 onwards. It would likely be torn apart and cop-out filled nonsense, so that is a plus.

Sound 8/10: Perfectly fine sound and voice acting. Ironically stars a few voice actors from "OreImo" as the main characters with incest subtext surrounding them. Action sequence sound and "Magic" casting are all well done and didn't seem out of place either, moreover they fit in well.

Character 7/10: Character development was moreover sketchy in this. In reality there was very little character development outside of select moments which then escalated to dramatically.

- Tatsuya Shiba - Incapable of feeling any emotion towards anyone but his sister. Sees women flirting with him as general annoyances and cannot comprehend their feelings whatsoever. He frequently turns a blind eye to any flirty behavior towards him and even mocks them in some cases while confirming to his sister that he is thoroughly not interested. He even brushes off a love confession in the Light Novels with a completely emotionless face.

- Miyuki Shiba - Tatsuya's younger sister by a poultry 11 months, meaning they are virtually the same age and even misinterpreted as twins early on in the first episode. She is disgusted by the mere notion of spending her life with anyone but her brother, and is incredibly obvious about her Incestuous love for him. Of which is convenient since he is effectively lobotomized and can only feel any emotion towards her specifically. She is also portrayed as "the perfect women", flawless looks, polite, ladylike, graceful, etc. So much so that even her brother is frequently mesmerized by her beauty and has to regain his composure. He also comments on her, which makes her extremely happy, considering her Incestuous thoughts.

- Saegusa Mayumi - The student council president, and also an airhead with, as Tatsuya quotes, unrealistic and unreachable ideals that would destroy the foundation of society. She apparently has feelings for Tatsuya, of which he is thoroughly annoyed by and ignores.

- Masaki Ichijou - Some bloke introduced halfway through the anime series. So egotistical that he ignores any and all women that try to get his attention, and only sees Miyuki as a love interest because she is powerful and perfect. This crush is incredibly one-sided though as Miyuki is especially repulsed by him. This is very evident in the novels, as the anime instead opts to have her reluctantly ignore his very presence without further explanation.

Nobody else specifically matters, and is only there to push the plot forward at times.

- SPOILER - After a marriage is *gleefully* arranged between 2 other characters in Volume 16 of the light novel, the fathers of Mayumi and Masaki try to force the marriage apart for their own personal gains. What is even more insulting about this is that the Mayumi and Masaki have little to no intentions themselves to break up the marriage. It's just that their fathers forced them to confess their undeveloped feelings for the soon-to-be-wed couple and are trying to use these undeveloped feelings as leverage. It doesn't work at all, and to the contrary it is reinforced by saying that they were quite literally made for and are destined to be with one-another. Reinforced further by quoting that "Separating them is quite literally causing the end of the world".

Enjoyment 7/10: The plot wasn't actually very predictable in each story arc, which is a plus. Loads of anime you can guess exactly how a story arc is going to end as soon as it starts. In this case yes, you know the overpowered Main Characters Tatsuya and Miyuki will probably win. But it is never really obvious that they will, nor does it follow an overly linear path. The smaller arcs within the main arcs are frequently explored and solved in interesting ways.

Overall 7/10: A reasonable introduction to the series, as most of Madhouse' productions are seeing as they generally refuse to do sequels or second seasons of any kind. It explores the original content well and doesn't exclude too much detail to the point that continuing with the source material doesn't make sense. For those who hate overpowered Main Characters, probably don't watch it. For others, it serves as an intro and nothing more to the series, as it doesn't go too far into detail, but doesn't quite go far enough if you think about it too hard.
