This anime, while having a similar feel to a lot of other anime out there about other worlds, comes at it in a completely different way. It was refreshing to see a lot of connections to our daily lives as well as new things that not all of us experience combined into a fantasy/new world story line. It throws small chips of comedy into some of the harsher realities of military work (obviously not all are correct but you get what I mean). The art was very well done with scenes ranging from lush new scenery to old, down-to-earth human lifestyle art.
The music was a nice combination of emotion-evoking but not quite as strong as certain anime. However thanks to the plot not being a drama, strong music isn't quite as necessary anyways (I'm pretty sure saying that isn't a spoiler lol). The characters introduced were superbly well crafted, bringing a blend of new personalities along with the generic, run-of-the-mill ones. Overall I enjoyed watching this anime. It was plain enough to understand and enjoy but offered some in-depth ideas. With new characters, an interesting plot-line and simply eye-catching art, this anime left me wanted a second season.
