Beck (Anime) add (All reviews)
Sep 14, 2015
An old but one of the greatest stories ever. Quoted "a masterpiece" by my siblings when I introduced the anime to him. Beck is a anime created way back in 2004, rated at 8.44 on myanimelist.

Beck deserves this rating, as quoted from my sibling that this was a master piece. It had a interesting story about finding a passion because Yukio was stuck in his life with nothing to do. The story had a gentle touch to it even though the english voicing was not so great but it kind of reminded you that, "hey this is an anime not a movie". Anyways the english voicing did not bring the rating of the anime down, in fact it added to the anime's sense of identity. If it didn't have that kind of voicing then, it just wouldn't be the same.

In terms of characters, the creators of the anime did a really good job into developing each character. Each character was evolving(ish) to reaching the goal of a bigger stage and more audience. Even though I had to admit that there were bad delayed english by Maho, the delayed english didn't bring the story in anyway. Most of the characters went through hard ships throughout the anime, the more stand out characters had their problems first and the more unnoticeable characters had theirs last ( Im so sorry Chiba).

Now the sound of the anime was Outta This World! In my opinion the anime had a great sense of music, all the songs were very energetic, funny and enjoyable. The songs had some deep, I mean deep meaning to them. From the first songs that Yukio sang to the last songs that Yukio sang, they all held deep meaning within each and every word. I highly recommend that you listen to the tracks!

For art considering that it was made in 2004 to 2005, the art was impressive, even though compared to our animation now it couldn't compete but still, the art gave an older sense and setting to it which fitted in very well with the anime(it wasn't very focused on technology).

Overall, the anime was great! Leaving all the english, funny dancing and paused or slow english, the series had a moderate pace with no fillers. The series provides a change of pace for more series watchers out there and also gives a slow but a strong romance story.

I enjoyed the series a lot as it provided great character development focusing scenes to a characters development. What added in with the story was the great music, it wasn't your random music with-out a name but what it was, were touching titles labeled created by Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad.

I highly recommend that you watch this anime if you are a new watcher, please do not judge a book by its cover or date.

Overall Rating of 9/10!
