Alright I'm giving this anime an almost perfect score, very unusual for me to do so. But the love, and the drama, and the feels, and the love was just too good! It was beautiful! Everything was just beautiful! The sounds of the piano were heartfelt, the freedom of the violin was awe striking, even the characters voices portrayed a deep feel of love.
The story was deep, thoroughly thought out, everything had its goal and shone no matter what it was, even the comical relief was beautiful! The flow of ideas and the heartwarming through plucking of heart strings left me enthralled in every moment of this anime. I'm not a musician, never really had an inkling for classic music either, but the way Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso portrayed a deep freedom through every touch of a key, every pull of strings, brought me to tears EVERY time!
Now to talk about the music and the art in this anime as two separate things would be wrong for this anime; both were so intriguingly entwined with each other that each emotion, each decision, was brought to life in an exquisite array of colors. The voice acting felt like the characters voice was actually alive and that the actor actually felt the pain, the sorrows, the excitement, and the freedom that their character was going trough like it was their own. The beautiful pallet of colors used for every scene made it all the more real, like it wasn't just on a screen, but actually happening in front of you. The sparkles off every note, the hue of every blush, the shine of every tear, had their own meaning, and each more symbolic then the last.
The character development for the three main characters was absolutely beautiful. Their stories held so much meaning and every event, so symbolic, painted a better picture of who that character was and why they became so attached to what made they who they are. The rival characters all had a story looking for some deep desire that the MC drove them to need. I wish they added more a story behind some of the other characters like wataru and the girl who was always with tsubaki, seeing as they were a big of the final result, thus being the only thing to drop my score to a 9.
The feels of Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso were beyond heart pulling and awe striking, though I've used those words, its to a level that can't described by words, like how emotions were felt through the song of the musicians in the anime. I cried at least a little at every episode for something, whatever reason it may have been, I cried because it was beautiful. The symbolism in this hard was hardcore, everything had a meaning.
Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso was a masterpiece through and through, the drama was lovely, the love was heartwarming, the sorrow was painful, the tears shared, the music free, the characters unique, and the ending spectacular. This anime will forever be one of the best dramas I've ever seen and will have the set the bar higher than just about anything else I've ever watch! Your Lie In April was love.
