Context (Feel free to skip if you don't care)

It's my second semester of college and the beginning of the new year. My roommate and I re-arranged our set up so we could watch tv in bed, enabling us to start watching anime together (As I was a newbie and he was introducing me to some of the greats) We went through a good few anime, and then one day this thing popped up on the recommended shows in my Netflix queue. Looked new enough, so we figured, "eh, why not?" And that's how I came to see Gargantia as a hidden gem anime, one we just happened to stumble upon.

Story

The premise starts off interesting enough, with the concept of people interacting from different cultures takes a few interesting turns. What truly makes the story is the end though, and the revelations that come with it. Truly the best part of this anime is it's resolution.

Art

The art is indicative of what I like to call the "modern" anime style, which is pretty, flashy, and atmospheric when it needs to be. (Which I'm personally fine with, I find the progression of the art of anime has continually gotten more aesthetically pleasing)

Sound

The general audio quality is acceptable, but in terms of voice acting, I felt every character spoke with the adequate amount of emotion for the situation. (I found Chamber sound felt very right, which can be a hit or a miss with AI voices)

Character

Ledo and Chamber make this show hands down. Their interactions with each other and the other members of the cast are so interesting and thought provoking. Guilt, duty, contemplation, and worry all have their place in the main character's development.

Enjoyment

It was very enjoyable to watch, making me happy, sad, and scared throughout, not to mention emotional at the end.

Overall

This was a very pleasurable anime, I am truly glad I found this anime, and feel it is underrated in the community. If your still reading this, then please, try it out! You won't be disappointed.
