Many fans of Shinichiro Watanabe seem to hold a grudge against Zankyou no Terror - compared to his other more popular works, namely Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo, ZnT is certainly the oddball. Since Watanabe teamed up with Yoko Kanno again for this one, people were probably expecting something more like his previous successes. ZnT doesn't feature the same kind of interesting merging of genres or comedy that are evident in Watanabe's other anime. It is also, frankly speaking, technically lacking and full of plot holes. That being said, for me personally, Terror in Resonance was an emotional experience.

While I cannot vouch for what this anime will make you feel, it struck a chord with me, and I personally really, really fucking enjoyed it - maybe not for objective reasons, but certainly because it was basically a perfect fit for what was going to give me a serious case of the feels. Note that this review might be a little biased, though in coming back to edit it, I have been a lot more objective in my ratings. I fully recognize that this is a flawed anime that could have done with better writing, a more solid plot and more developed, dynamic characters - however, my enjoyment of it is what makes me rate it so highly.

Story: 6/10
Art: 10/10
Sound: 9/10 (the OST was flawless - it's the voice acting that makes me rate it down)
Character: 4/10
Enjoyment: 10/10

Personally, this anime moved me more powerfully than anything I have watched (or even anything I have experienced in 'the real world' for quite a while) for a long time, was utterly addictive and thoroughly enjoyable.
