Second off all I was kind of hesitant if I should make a review of this anime because of two things first the rating system (which is now better) and because spice and wolf is my favorite series.
third this is a NO SPOILER REVIEW
So with that out of the way let's start
Story- 7 (Anime only)
The anime covers Volume 1, 2, 3, 5 of the light novel which is kinda sad because the good part comes after those volumes and the first novels have the weakest plot in my opinion but they are not bad the only bad thing is that they are similar and repetitive. I won't do a resume of the story because you can already read the synopsis on the Spice and wolf page.
Art/Animation - 9
The art is outstanding, Villages feels lively and same could be said about background now the only bad thing is the animation which is pretty mediocre at best but I will give it a slack because it's a 2007/2008 anime and the director directed hentai not anime.
Music- 10
The music fits perfectly the theme and is enjoyable I even bought the OST
Character-10
Now this is the reason why you want to watch spice&wolf the development between our two main protagonist is astonishing and every character as is background but it's not really exploited in the anime like it is in the LN when you watch the anime you will be transported into their world the conversation between characters is fluid and doesn't feel forced at all.
Enjoyement 10
This is my favorite series and caution at the end you will feel depressed that their is no season 3 so I would recommend buying the Light novels which are at least 10 times better thanks for reading :)
