*No spoilers, only details from the description and the summary of the anime.
But the P.S. might feel like a spoiler, even though it's completely unimportant*

This is one of the best anime I've ever seen! So you know where this review is heading, right?

Story 9/10

Although this season contains the first and largest arc of the Light Novels, it is still formed from smaller stories that intervene in the most unexpected ways and for the most unexpected reasons! This is the reason it might look confusing in the beginning. But when you get to know the characters, it all gets into place!

Art 8.5/10

The art is original, but does not stray off from the classic anime animation! Detailed backgrounds, vivid colors even though it's ahas a few darker points and the characters, even if they had the same hair and eye color, you would still be able to tell them apart! All perfect blend for a mystery-comedy anime.

Sound 8.5/10

Apart from the great job of the seiyuu, it's not something amazing or mind blowing. But it's very very good, matching sound and setting. The opening and ending songs are the kind of songs I would have on my phone. The ost when it comes to fight and scheming scenes presents a great result!

Character 10/10

Ok, the characters are so many, so different and so well created! I don't know how they managed to give a back story to all of them and you come to need them all in your story! There are crazy motives for the plot to evolve, from being utterly bored to looking for a lost head.
It also includes one of the coolest female characters I've seen (Celty) and one of my most favorite couples!

Enjoyment 10/10

Enough said! I just cannot describe how much I enjoy the black motorcycle, the fights between Shizuo and Izaya and the difference between the night and day life! I love how they mix up seemingly normal, every day characters with urban legends and dark alleys! It's just perfect!

Overall 9.5/10

I am tempted to give it a 10/10, but I don't want to sound too soft. So a 9.5 it is! The quality is high, the work of the production is excellent and the result one of those anime that, in the end, doesn't make you feel silly for watching it!

I know how people say that Baccano (same creators, same philosophy) is better and objectively, it is. But I got more attached to Durarara! for some reason.

P.S. There is a small cameo from Baccano.
