Now being serious, Naruto could have honestly been one of the greatest shows imagine able. You have this fleshed out story following this one kid who was looked down upon his entire life, and you see him rise and up and fulfill his dream. What could be bad about that!? That already sounds awesome!! Then you add in some more kick ass characters like Kakashi and fighting scenes and an actual story and a goal and boom!! Sounds good right? R-right....?
Now... here's where in my personal taste, this potentially amazing story and show, goes skyrocketing the opposite direction it had the potential to go for. There is, so much, SO, MUCH, POINTLESS, TALKING...... in this show you will catch yourself watching 40% of the last season despite it being the next season and when I say this I mean the FLASHBACKS HOLY SHIT. The fillers in this show are even immense, most of the talking in this show is also very pointless.... and what's worse? The action is crap!! And no, I don't mean the action itself is crap, honestly it was pretty enjoyable, that 1 minute of fighting you saw for every 45 minutes of talking, you get why I think it's crap now? Even IN the middle of some fights when all the action is building up and the drama and intensity is rising, SOMEONE, SOMEWHERE, has to SOMETHING, that involves that..... or wait, even better... a flashback....
This show honestly had so much potential, it has such a wide spread world that is honestly pretty unique and creative. It has a very fleshed out story, explaining things from the VERY beginning (you rarely if ever see shows doing this) and an amazing adventure following this one admirable kid grow up with great and fleshed out characters near him. The fighting itself is honestly not boring and some of the dialogue is honestly pretty interesting, and heartfelt. But what totally and completely ruins this show for me is the fillers, the constant nonsensical talking, and the CONSTANT FLASHBACKS I CANNOT STRESS THIS, We just got done watching Naruto when he was a kid (first season) and we're onto the second season and you think we need to REWATCH what we already WATCHED!? And that's not including the fillers that INVOLVE flashbacks that have NOTHING to do with the show. Literally the most pointless thing imaginable, imagine it, right now, and Naruto will make a fucking filler out of it somehow.
Mind you most of this is the show version, I heard a lot of the fillers and pointless talking is taken out of the manga, but honestly I wish they did a better job with the anime.... the sounds in this show are honestly quite nice and do a good job of impacting the show and making the scenes they provide more vibrant.....
With Narutos interesting and unique characters and setting, along with an admirable person following an ambitious dream leading us to various interesting and adventurous tales and awesome fight scenes, this show had so much potential..... I hope in the future they will do a rework on this could be great show.
