I watched Kaiji a while ago, in fact, a few years ago but I never thought to make a review of it... cuz... I didn't have a MAL account back then. Kaiji was one of the few anime I watched when I wasn't that into anime. When I wasn't too into anime, I watched very few anime a year, I watched about two per year since 2010. In that time, from 2010-2014, the time I wasn't too into anime, I watched Kaiji, Akagi, Death Note, Monster, Angel Beats! and Danganronpa. Of course you see I am also rewatching Akagi, putting it on-hold. Reason for that is, I have no idea what the fuck happened. Anyway, enough explaining my shitty past life where I didn't watch anime that much. ON WITH THE REVIEW!

Story: 10/10

The story centers around a man named Aka-I mean... Kaiji... Kaiji is a good-for-nothing... well... idiot, who spends all his days drinking beer and stealing hubcaps... until he's tricked by his friend... I guess... just going off of what MAL is saying, and trying to see if it's legit info. He is invited to a cruise ship and he attends just to clear his debt of like... 3 million yen. Which is around 24,000 USD. Still a lot of money for Americans. I'm not American, just stating that right there. But a lot of shit goes down and he has do stuff that stuff... stuff stuff stuff.

Art: 8/10

Art/animation... I'm pretty sure this is what art means, considering the creators do draw every single frame, then submit it to a software and shit, and then animate it... so, yeah, the art is acceptable, as I have no flippin' idea when the hell this anime was released, but considering it's art, I'd say it's around 2006-2008. Am I wrong? Lemme check... Fuck... 2007-2008. Damn it! Nearly there! But, it's acceptable... actually, it's pretty damn good. Kaiji can kill someone with that chin of his... possibly.

Sound: 8/10

I never really listened to the soundtrack (yes, using the same excuse as I did in my Ansatsu Kyoushitsu review...) so... actually, I didn't install it and listen to it, cuz' I just didn't feel like it. I really liked the opening, though, and it was weird how it was only 50 seconds. Yes, I know, it's only about 30 seconds difference from normal anime openings, but, still...

Character: 10/10

Every character in this show is pretty damn awesome. Even the antagonist I came to like, because, to be honest, the show wouldn't of even had a point if that guy didn't exist. For those of you who've watched this anime, you know who I'm talking about. I love every character, especially Kaiji... that moment... you know... with him in the bathroom... the ear? Yeah? You know? Yeah... that... was a bit violent. But... WHY SHOULD I CARE?! I'm a crazy mother-flipper.

Overall: 10/10

Truly fascinating series. I was right to watch this 5 years ago, then rewatch it recently about five months ago. It's a great series, and I still haven't seen the second season cause' I cannot find it anywhere. Where da fack is it?! I've been looking for that business for 829 years... cuz' I'm totally that old. Anyway, Kaiji is a great, underrated series. Kaiji is one of the best protagonists you will ever come across. Ever.
