When I view this anime in an objective manner, there are some flaws with the sound and art design, but the quality of the story dwarfs those concerns by many orders of magnitude.
If you are on the fence about picking up this anime, ask yourself... Do you like manly characters? Do you like characters that evolve drastically during the narrative? Do you like bloody battles with amazing feats of valor? Do you like political intrigue? Do you like strategy based in real life history? Do you like protagonists that outsmart ever other character in the story?
If you answered yes to those questions then you will love this anime as much as I did. Hopefully it leaves as massive of a life changing impression on you as it did me.
