On the surface at first Kill La Kill looked incredibly stupid; however this anime is a parody of old school anime. The one anime I recommended watching at least a few episodes of before picking this one up is Dragon Ball, since there are at last two direct references to the show in this anime. Another thing to remember is that you are not supposed to take everything seriously. This show is full of wonderful incomprehensible goofball moments that show embraces, while also showing a more serious side.

It is also in some of the more over the top episodes, that you can find some grate commentary on family. For one thing episode 7, at its core is all about family and is over all one of the best early episodes that the anime has to offer. It also helps to set up just how closes Ryuko and Mako have become as friends

Another think will Kill La Kill, is that the first few episodes are a little too slowly paced, in fact the pace didn’t seem to pick up very much until episode 11 and over all things didn’t kike into high gear until about episode 17.

The second half of the anime also reveals the true purpose of Honnouji Academy
along with what Satsuki has been planing from the time she was five years old. While also revealing somethings about who Ryuko is in a very satisfying and interesting way.
